Kanggaroo Land (Melbourne)

8.30 pm, September 27, 2009, our flight touched down at Melbourne Airport, our first destination to visit in Australia. Actually everything had been scheduled, two days in Melbourne (aka 'Victoria') and 6 days in Sidney, even accommodations and flight ticket also already booked. We had prepared all basic needs couple months ago to make sure we were not wasted our time there to find accommodations and gamble our luck to get flight ticket as we had very limited time to spend.

'Victoria Hall', the place that we had been stayed in Melbourne

But our first day at Melbourne not really went very smooth because we had not had any planned which place to go. Besides that we also had difficulties with tram routes and rules. It seems used the tram were not as easy as we had read from books before. To get use with the tram services we had to get in and get off from one tram to another tram using hourly passed card. That was not easy for outsider like us actually.

"What an amazing hardscape. It was brilliant idea".

In Melbourne City tram is the most popular public transport where most of people are using trams rather than other transport. There are two types of trams provided – free tram called City Circle and trams provided by private company. But city circle only covered certain part of Melbourne City and it’s moved circling the city.

'City circle Tram', the old tram that still operating for tourism purposes actually. But not only tourist in that tram, coz it was free.

'Melbourne Aquarium, unfortunately we hadn't had time to visit this place.

Melbourne Central

As we had very limited time, so we decided to spent our two days in Melbourne city centre. Melbourne was a hectic city especially on weekdays. This is because Melbourne city is the place for people to work, visit, for leisure and get educations. At midday the city was bit happening and trams were crammed with people who rushed out for lunch. It was not right time for us to get in the tram. So that we decided to tour the city on foot and stopped by at any interesting places we had found. Fortunately we brought stroller for our son; otherwise we need to carry him when he got tired. That’s would be disaster. It’s really enjoyed touring Melbourne City on foot and viewed many old building that had been built probably hundreds years ago but still in well-maintained.

'China Town', It seems we were somewhere in Hong Kong.
