Last Day: The Wildlife Park and Aquarium of Sydney

The last day in Sidney it seems the weather was not on our side. It rained all night and continuing for the whole day. So we planned to spend our day under cover. We decided to visit the Wildlife Park of Sidney which was located at Darling Harbour just opposite the Maritime Museum. For $100 dollars we could visit Wildlife Park and Aquarium of Sidney. At first we thought $100 was too expensive for visiting those two buildings.

The Wildlife Park and Aquarium of Sidney did not seem to be big places from outside, but after spending a while inside we felt we were in a never ending space. We just went through the passage by following the signs provided. It was really a long passage with amazing interior designs full of hundreds of animals behind the glassed walls, from tiny insects to the most dangerous killer snakes and spiders.

One of Ashraff 's most favourite spot..bugs..
"Get me if you can"

Perfectly camouflaged
"Heeeee!!!!!!... we're human tree""Kih kih kih... it looks like Atok's chicken"

Asraff was really enjoyed watching kind of desert lizards jumping aggressively from one rock to another. But he was really scared when one of the Wildlife Park’s staff asked him to touch the snake which was coiled on his hand and neck.

Finally the passage brought us to the area of the most famous animals in Australia – Kanggaroos and Koalas. In that area we got the chance to see eye-to-eye with those animals without being separated by glassed wall, even though most of the koalas were sleeping. It was an amazing experience.

"Ops! don't accuse them for being lazy, this is their daytime businesses"
"Now I'm getting confused, who is nocturnal here"
"Daydreeming..."
Wombat
Wallabies
We continued our day at Sidney Aquarium which was located just next to the Wildlife Park building. There were many types of marine animals, some of which we had never seen before. I thought the most interesting place here was the under water world aquarium. We walked through a glassed channel just side-by-side with many types of shark, giant turtles and stingrays, and other marine creatures swimming around us. I felt as if we were walking under the sea world.

Giant turtle
" It's time to touch corals."
Then we went to an other part of the aquarium to watch Dugong. We arrived at the right time where some of the aquarium’s staff were feeding the dugong with lettuces. It was really fun to see the dugongs come to the surface to get the lettuces.
We went out from the aquarium building at 3.30 pm. The enjoyment we had in the Wildlife Park and aquarium made us forgot about the time. We had never noticed that we spent 6 hours in there. Just imagine what fun that place was. We returned to New Zealand on the next day with thousand of memories which were saved permanently in the photos we had taken.
